Bird Madness: Egret Eight #2 and #3
12/20/2012
We know holiday time gets busy, with family gatherings and tasty meals. With that in mind, we’ve decided to try something new: Today’s post includes Egret Eight rounds #2 and #3 together so you can vote for both in one fell swoop. By the way, the awesome roadrunner with a mouth full of insects moves on to the Feathered Four finals.
The voting for rounds 2 and 3 will remain open for a week starting today. Watch for the final Egret Eight round Thursday, Jan 3. (We’re taking a short break over the holidays.)

By now you likely know how our Bird Madness bracket game works. But just in case you need a refresher, here are some details: Each round of the Soaring Sixteen, we posted two entries from this year’s Audubon Magazine Photo Awards. Those winners are going head to head in our Egret Eight round. The top quartet makes it to the Feathered Four, then two onto the championship match.
It’s all in anticipation of announcing the official winners of our Photo Awards—it’s coming soon!—selected by our design director, Kevin Fisher, our photo editor, Lila Garnett, and publisher and editor-in-chief of Nature’s Best Photography magazine, Steve Freligh.
The ultimate victor of Bird Madness will appear on Audubonmagazine.org, along with a story about how he or she captured the shot. Our Jan-Feb 2013 issue features the awards’ official winners.

Yes, this is holiday time full of family gatherings and tasty meals. I have voted for the birds, but unfortunately my vote goes to the less popular one (as per percentage of already voted). I don't know why Hummingbird got less votes when compared with Kestrel. Anyhow, I like your admiration towards birds. Thanks!
